Yoga Group Classes, large vs small.

I often have clients start with me 1:1 so they can integrate into some sort of group class. This has proven to be such a good idea. It builds body awareness, reduces a ‘keeping up with others’ mentality and prevents injury that can sometimes lead to never wanting to try Yoga again.

If you aren’t familiar with the diversity of Yoga, a large class may lead to pressure and confusion to do whatever it takes to fit in. It is common that the instructor is mostly demonstrating and may not be able to give attention to students due to sheer numbers.

Attending a smaller group offers individualised attention and adjustments under the caring, helpful eye of the instructor. This can lead to more confidence and a sense of self, not to mention progress. I encourage you to try both to feel what fits best for you.
